Damage Control Olympics – Rescue and Assist

Plenty of applicable training was on the POD today for the Wolfpack to practice and perfect their damage control abilities. In the morning, all crew not on watch gathered on the focsle for the next round of “Damage Control (DC) Olympics.” The DC Olympics organizes the crew into the following groups: Air, Chief Petty Officers, Combat Systems, Engineering, Executive/Supply, Operations, Weapons, and Wardroom. Today’s events included donning the advanced chemical protective garment (ACPG), communications, plotting, applying a soft patch, and medical training with varying medical casualties. In the afternoon, the flying squad and deck division practiced providing rescue and assistance to another ship if they had a damage control casualty.
